Cut up, baby!
Esta semana dedicamos nuestra sección a los DJ que en mayor o menor medida son gente que se dedica a mezclar canciones o sus fragmentos con desigual suerte.
Un hito reciente que ejemplifica lo dicho fue la sesión montada por Strictly Kev cuyo título ‘Raiding The 20th Century’ on XFM’s ‘The Remix’ venía a ser un extenso resumen de la historia del “cut up”, la manipulación de cintas, el megamix, etc… a lo largo del siglo XX. Durante 40 minutos, podremos disfrutar de una alocado batiburrilo en los que caben las locuras de John Oswald, las idas de olla de los Beatles, Strauss, William Burrroughs, los mash ups o las tronchantes composiciones de Carl Stalling.
Un documento impagable que hará las delicias de cualquiera que quiera escarbar en los momenots más “avant garde” de la música pop del siglo pasado.
