Quiénes somos
Manuel Bartual es historietista y diseñador gráfico. Escribe y dibuja Sexorama, la serie en la que semanalmente disecciona con gracejo el mundo del sexo y las relaciones de cama desde las páginas de El Jueves, pero todo contado así con monigotes, como para quitarle hierro al asunto. Es también conocido por Con amigos como estos (la serie de tiras cómicas con la que se estrenó en esto del humor junto a Manuel Castaño), por El Detective de la SGAE (también en El Jueves) y por su absurdamente numerosa colección de muñecos de Hulk. En los últimos 30 años le ha dado tiempo a diseñar casi más tebeos de los que ha leído, a maquetar un par de coleccionables para El País, a dirigir varios fanzines y una revista (El Manglar), a ver más de una docena de veces Regreso al futuro y (sí, esto otro también) a pasar una temporada diseñando webs porno. Es también el creador, junto con Sergio Córdoba, de Palomitas, una serie de piezas animadas graciocísimas para Cinemanía.
En Dando la nota se ocupa de ¡Escucha esto!, una serie sobre las miserias contemporáneas de músicos y fans que comenzó publicando en la web de MTV España y cuya primera etapa recopiló Astiberri Ediciones en un bonito libro a finales de 2009. Le gusta el pop, le gusta el indie, le gusta el rock y, por encima de todo, le gustan las chicas con guitarra.
John Tones es el seudónimo habitual de Pedro Berruezo, periodista, escritor y guionista en proporciones notablemente desiguales que lleva una década y pico escribiendo sobre las ramas más peregrinas de la cultura pop. Ha publicado en medios como Público, La Vanguardia, Fotogramas o La Razón, y actualmente dirige los contenidos de la web de cine Cine365.com. Fanzinero de espíritu y blogger de tres al cuarto, es o ha sido responsable de blogs como El Focoblog, Mondo Píxel, Hadouken! o Dosis Mínima, hace simpáticos apaños como guionista en la productora Hill Valley, fue redactor-jefe de la revista de videojuegos Superjuegos Xtreme, escribió la serie de cómic Tempus Fugit (ilustrada por Víctor Santos y serializada en El Manglar) y colecciona ediciones extrañas de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas. Si todo ello no fuera suficiente para dar la impresión de una personalidad dispersa y caricaturesca, sumémosle su pertenencia al grupo de rocanrol desmonsergado Wicked Wanda.
En Dando la nota se hace cargo de Grandes éxitos, una columna semanal sobre las miserias y las paradojas de la música pop. Un do de pecho sarcástico y con mala leche sobre las contradicciones de la música y sus ramificaciones. Mientras lo escribe, posiblemente ande escuchando punk frenético y gritón. Y si no, a las Donnas.
Luis Bustos es dibujante de tebeos, ilustrador y grafista. Entre sus trabajos en el mundo del cómic destacan Rayos y Centellas (escrito por David Muñoz) o Residuos (con Muñoz y Trashorras a los guiones). Como autor completo hay quien tal vez recuerde espop!, su página satírica sobre música pop para la revista RockdeLux que durante treinta y pico entregas hizo las delicias de la chiquillería. También es el autor de Zorgo, una serie de dos álbumes de humor juvenil con mad-doctor-que-quiere-dominar-el-mundo como protagonista y de Endurance, su primera novela gráfica y un giro radical hacia terrenos de intensa aventura dramática por la que está nominado a Mejor obra nacional 2009 en el Salò del cómic de Barcelona. También ha colaborado en milmillonesderevistas, diseñado y maquetado tropecientas historias, y hasta le dio tiempo de aventurarse en un proyecto protomusical llamado Destroy All Robots!
En Dando la nota se ocupa de Rock Stars, una serie coral donde narra las desventuras de un blackmetalero gordinflón (y su abuela, amante de Dyango), un auténtico jevi viejuno y un pastillero maquinero, entre otros elementos. Aunque es omnivoro musical, tiene predilección por The Clash, Godflesh y Plastikman, entre otros. No le juzguéis, dadle mimos.
